How to escape streaming with an offline music library, a guide
Have you gotten sick of Spotify and/or related services?
Good news,
you aren't alone.
Good news,
there are solutions.
With streaming services, artists are constantly screwed over, in more ways than one!
What Spotify, and many other platforms do, is incentivize the same kind of music, over, and over again. Whatever makes the most money, which is often short form pop music that is instantly gratifying.
Is your music experimental? Does your music not immediately make the listener 'feel good'? This doesn't fit our rigid standards of the modern music money-pumper!
Also, quite often streaming services are just not ideal to use.
Plaqued by intrusive advertisements and other jank that makes the experience way less streamlined.
How do we solve these 'moral' and other annoying problems with streaming services?
Well, we can first financially support the musical artists we love.
1# Bandcamp
Bandcamp is a service that distrubutes music. Essentially a digital music store.
I know, it seems obvious, but its honestly just that simple.
Support the artists you like with your money, not much else to say.
However, if you don't have the means, the artist isn't on Bandcamp, there are other options.
